About Us

This website and domain is little more than a hobby of mine now. It's where I keep my HTML and CSS incheck. I also use it to keep information that I find useful from time to time, and feel that others might as well.

I used to host this website on my own equipment, on my own connection. I run my own DNS servers, my own E-Mail server, and webservers. I do not profit from this, but enjoy the hobby. I also host a domain for the Broken Arrow Amateur Radio Club.

This webserver daemon is Apache, which runs on a FreeBSD computer. I prefer Cisco routers and equipment to handle my networking, but I also like 3Com and Netgear.

I use vi to write all of my webpages, as I prefer the hand coded feel of a website. Hand-coded pages usually load faster, and the author has much greater control of the look and design of the site. I have also used Pico, Notepad, and MS-DOS Edit to write my pages, but use vi mainly as it's just about the best editor in a text shell.

I currently work as a Data-Center Network Engineer. I have also work for an outsourced computer support company where I did every thing from troubleshoot printers and scanners, to running cable, setting up Windows servers and site-to-site VPN tunnels. Before that I was as an over-the-road truck driver for 4 years, and was a trainer who polished off students fresh out of the academy before they were sent out on the road. I was also a school bus driver for a year. I enjoyed that job the most, but it just didn't pay the bills.

If you have any suggestions about the site, links for me to add to the links page, a job offer, or just general comments, drop me a line.
