Art Censorship in the United States

I wrote this paper during my Senior Year of High School. The assignment was to write a page paper on if you thought Art Censorship was good or bad.
Art Censorship can be viewed as an illegal act by our government to control what we view and how we express ourselves. Art can be defined as anything that is made for the enjoyment of others, or as a personal expression of feeling. The constitution gives the citizens of the United States explicit rights of Freedom of Expression.
Art Censorship is wrong because the artist has a right to publish, or distribute whatever they feel. That can be considered the Freedom of the Press, and also Freedom of Expression. Anytime an artist's work is censored; their personal rights are being violated. That is illegal, but for some reason the government keeps doing it.
Censoring is also wrong in the fact that you are telling how and in what way people will be allowed to express themselves. When you remove a form of expression, you might cause problems in other more violent ways. When someone does not have a creative way to express their feelings, you are jut asking them to express themselves in a violent and sometimes dangerous way.
If you give the government the freedom to censor people, or basically tell them what they can see, or hear, or experience, you are just asking for the government to invade other parts of our lives, claiming it is for our best. If the government feels it has the right to censor its citizens, it just might start instructing its citizens on how they must dress, how to walk, how to act, and more. This would be a long way off, but could happen if we do not stop censorship.
Now, granted, some people do not want to have to regulate what they see. Some people are juts lazy, and uninformed. These people just do not want the government interfering with their lives. These people are in the opinion that if I don't know about it, it will not hurt me. That is a dangerous way to think in today's world. The government funds an agency called the CIA, to monitor the rest of the world. The government knows what they do not know about, will hurt them. They spend billions each year to know what the world is doing. They monitor countries, which already have the government telling its citizens what to do. That is why we have to many immigrants.
Please, speak out against censorship. The government has no right to tell its citizens, the ones who give it it's power, what they can and can not view. The only way we can get it through to them is to write and call constantly to protest their actions. That is another freedom that we have, and do not want them to take away, our Right to Protest.
