Optical Conductor Trunk Levels | |||
| Optical Conductor Trunk Line Speeds are very easy to compute. The OC-1 is the building block for which all the OC levels are determined. An OC-3 is 155.52 Mbps, which is 3 * 51.840 Mbps. An OC-1 is the optical equivalent of a T3 circuit. It has more bandwidth on the line, but that extra bandwidth is used for switching. | Level | Speed | Call |
| OC-1 | 51.840 Mbps | 672 | |
| OC-3 | 155.52 Mbps | 2,016 | |
| OC-12 | 622.08 Mbps | 8,064 | |
| OC-48 | 2,488.32 Mbps | 32,256 | |
| OC-192 | 9,953.28 Mbps | 129,024 | |
| OC-256 | 13,271.04 Mbps | 172,032 | |
